A.K. Iversen A/S was founded in Randers in 1944 by Anton Kristian Iversen, under the name “Iversen’s Bakelite Factory.”
Anton Kristian Iversen was a pioneer in thermosetting materials, best known as Bakelite. His knowledge of the material dates back to 1935-36, when he gained the expertise that would inform his vision for the company.
From the very beginning, great emphasis was placed on manufacturing all the mould tools in-house, which were used in production.
At a young age, his son Poul Iversen took over daily operations and early recognized that the future lay in thermoplastic materials (plastic) and the potential for automated production.
This vision proved successful, and today A.K. Iversen A/S is a leading tool and plastics company, run by Allan Iversen, the third generation of the family business.
